4v4+4 Rondo:
Problem: Players lose the ball too often during transition from inside to outside
Solution: Instead of dribbling or hesitating, as soon as the team in the middle win the ball back, they should immediately give it to the best option neutral player and quickly take their positions on the outside to provide immediate passing options.
Problem: Neutral players on the end of the rectangle give ball away during transition
Solution: During the transition when both inside and outside groups of 4 players switch upon a change of possession, obviously the outer areas of the space are congested with the crossover of players, so the neutral players on the end should use either of the two neutral players in the middle who are almost always free and open immediately as the transition happens.
Problem: Players give ball away when trying to make longer switches of play from end to end
Solution: While an end to end switch of play is great, it is not often available as the middle area of the rectangle is congested. Players should look to make short, quick passes in triangles to work the ball from one end of the rectangle to the other, rather than trying to make longer switches too often.
Problem: Defending team struggle to win the ball back
Solution: The group of four defending players have to work together as a unit in order to close down the player in possession while also cutting off other passing options. If they work individually instead of pressing collectively (which requires communication), they will find it difficult to get the ball in what is essentially a 4v8 situation.
