3v3+3 Rondo:
Problem: Players on outside come into the inside of the area and steal the ball often
Solution: Be strict with outside players; they need to stay outside of the hexagon, otherwise the middle space becomes too congested and chaotic. Sticking out a foot to intercept a pass is different to stepping well inside the middle area and stealing the ball.
Problem: Teams struggle to reach a certain number of passes as a target
Solution: Eight passes without the other team touching the ball is challenging and that’s good, you want it to be moderately difficult for your players. The key is the first few passes; if players can make a few one-touch passes right after winning possession, it almost gives them a ‘headstart’ so reaching eight passes is more achievable. One-touch passing combinations are more difficult for the other team to intercept and the team in possession can build quicker.
Problem: Players on the outside stand still and are disengaged
Solution: The outside players should ALWAYS be involved, even when they are not in possession. If their team is in possession, they should be moving to give the best possible passing option. if their team is not in possession, they should be moving left or right to put pressure on the player next to them.
